Trapeze Acquires Education Planning Solutions
Smartr software applications added to existing school transportation product suite
BEACHWOOD, OH, MAY 23, 2005 – Trapeze Group, a leader in the school transportation software industry, has acquired Education Planning Solutions (EPS) of Provo, UT, strengthening Trapeze’s ongoing investment in best-of-breed technology solutions for school districts and school transportation providers.
EPS offers the Smartr for Schools Transportation Module™, a stand-alone student transportation software system that incorporates ArcView-based routing.
“With the ESRI-based Smartr for Schools product suite, we have extended and strengthened our solutions for the school transportation market,” said Rick Bacchus, president of Trapeze. “We have also assembled the most skilled and knowledgeable team in the industry, with more than 100 years of combined experience among our Trapeze and EPS staff.”
“Current EPS clients will not see any major changes resulting from this acquisition, as EPS staff in Provo will continue to provide customer service for the Smartr product line,” said Kerry Somerville, principal and founder of EPS. “EPS clients will also be able to access additional Trapeze technology solutions for the school transportation, community transit and public transit sectors.”
